About The Position

This is a Full Time Registered Nurse position in the Acute Med Surg Department at Texas Health Fort Worth. The unit is a 35-bed unit that admits patients with various diagnoses including post-surgery, urology, limb salvage, chronic wounds, GI, diabetes, respiratory overflow, isolations, and airborne COVID. The unit is known for its teamwork and collaboration, and offers self-scheduling, opportunities for educational and career growth, a Robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and an engaged leadership team. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, while incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. The nurse will also initiate actions to meet patient information needs and maintain continuity of care.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Required
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program
• Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
• Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
• Have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• 2+ years strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred
