About The Position

This is an Acute Care Float Registered Nurse position. The nurse will be assigned by the nursing supervisor at the time staffing assignments are made. The shift is a 12-hour shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Ratios vary according to need but are typically 1:6. The position requires 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital. First-time travelers may be considered. The nurse will be required to work every other weekend. BLS certification is required. This position is not on-call. Block schedules are not accommodated. A pending license is not accepted; an active unencumbered TN (or multi-state) RN license is required. There are RTO restrictions. Special requirements include Cerner EMR experience. The nurse will float to various units including Medical Comfort Care, Surgery and GI, Trauma, Medical, Observation, Oncology, Medical Nephrology, Ortho, Joint Replacement/Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Pulmonary, Cardiac Surgery, and Cardiac units. Scrubs are Royal Blue.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital.
• Active unencumbered TN (or multi-state) RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Cerner EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Float to various acute care units as assigned by the nursing supervisor.
• Provide nursing care in Medical Comfort Care, Surgery and GI, Trauma, Medical, Observation, Oncology, Medical Nephrology, Ortho, Joint Replacement/Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Pulmonary, Cardiac Surgery, and Cardiac units.
• Manage patient care with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management.
