This is an Acute Care Float Registered Nurse position. The nurse will be assigned by the nursing supervisor at the time staffing assignments are made. The shift is a 12-hour shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Nurse to patient ratios vary according to need, but are typically 1:6. The position requires 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital. First-time travelers may be considered. The nurse will be required to work every other weekend. BLS certification is required. This position does not require on-call duty. Block schedules are not accommodated. A pending license will not be accepted; an active unencumbered TN (or multi-state) RN license is mandatory. There are special requirements for RTO (time off) restrictions. The nurse must have Cerner EMR experience. The nurse will float to various units including: 12E (Medical comfort care), 11E (Surgery and GI), 10E (Trauma), 8E (Medical), 7S (Observation), 5E (Medical), 5W (Oncology), 4S (Medical nephrology), 9E (Ortho), 7E (Joint Replacement/Ortho), 6S & 6E (Neuro), 9H (Vascular), 8H (Pulmonary), 7H (Cardiac Surgery), and 4H (Cardiac). Scrubs are Royal Blue.
