This position involves assessing assigned patients, evaluating, and documenting nursing care. The Registered Nurse will report symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs, and modify treatment plans as indicated. The role includes reviewing and reporting diagnostic tests, consulting with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments. The nurse will consider patient age and culture, provide psychological support, and perform appropriate patient tests. Administering medications and maintaining accurate records related to medications and treatments are key responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders. Communication of the plan of care to patients, families, and team members, adhering to HIPAA guidelines, and utilizing best practices for patient care transition and discharge planning are essential. The role requires planning, prioritizing, and adjusting assignments to achieve goals and render superior patient care, adapting to changing work demands, and safely operating medical equipment. Additionally, the Registered Nurse will serve as a preceptor, assisting new staff in patient care and providing feedback.
