About The Position

At Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administrations (BHHA) Special Commitment Center, our Registered Nurses work with the Discharge team and is responsible for seeking out new health care resources and building working relationships with them in order to facilitate Transitions to the community. The RN2 will also work with the SCC total confinement facility on island treatment teams to identify residents’ medical and healthcare needs for discharge and the types of facilities that will best meet those needs. The RN2 can may have contact with the resident, treatment teams, family members and/or community providers in this process. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees.

Requirements

Valid Washington state license to practice as a Registered Nurse or ability to obtain a valid Washington state license by the start of employment.

Responsibilities

Foster wellness and serve as a liaison in partnership with our team, clients, and family members
Inspire strength by collaborating to plan, develop, and deliver nursing care for clients
Act as the client advocate by observing the physical and mental conditions, assessing for any physical and/or behavioral changes
Document observations, interventions, and other pertinent information related to a client's health status
Administer medications and monitor for any health concerns
Provide professional consultation and support LPNs and nursing assistant staff
