The Registered Nurse 2 delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service while ensuring population-specific patient care. The Registered Nurse 2 oversees nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice. This role involves administering research study agents, standard chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications, monitoring therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtaining necessary specimens. The nurse will also support patients and families during trial treatment, work with research staff to educate patients, and follow policies and procedures for clinical trials. A significant portion of the role (70%) involves direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, including patient and family education, discharge planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The role also includes professional accountability, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
