About The Position

The Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of orthopedic injuries and conditions. The sonographer will work closely with Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiatrists, Podiatrists and healthcare providers to deliver accurate and timely imaging studies while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), RVT, or equivalent credential through ARDMS or ARRT.
Registered in Musculoskeletal Sonography (RMSKS) credential required through APCA or ARDMS, or eligible to sit for examination
Demonstrated competence in diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
At least 2 years’ experience as RDMS
Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution skills
Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment.
Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic image and clinical information management.

Responsibilities

Operates and manages medical diagnostic ultrasound equipment to complete a variety of procedures.
Consistently produces diagnostic quality exams, individualizing technical factors, scanning parameters and patient positioning as required by each procedure.
Effectively uses computer systems (such PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department.
Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
Manage and maintain Ultrasound department accreditation through AIUM
Document findings and maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Ensure compliance with practice, state, and federal regulations related to patient care and imaging services.
Educate patients regarding examination procedures and provide compassionate care throughout the visit.
Perform quality assurance activities and maintain equipment in optimal operating condition.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, radiologists, advanced practice providers, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and clinical staff.
