About The Position
Konza Prairie Community Health Center is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to join their Immunization Department. This role will primarily focus on supporting immunization services, including vaccine administration, patient education, documentation, and coordinating immunization needs. The RMA will work closely with the Immunization Coordinator and clinical care teams to ensure patients of all ages are up-to-date on recommended vaccines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
- Experience administering vaccines, medications, or injections
- Knowledge of vaccine administration, storage, handling, and documentation practices
- CPR/BLS certification for Healthcare Providers, or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
- Strong communication, organization, and patient service skills
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of Medical Assistant experience
- Experience with vaccine programs or immunization services
- Primary care or outpatient experience
- FQHC and/or eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines in accordance with established protocols and competency requirements
- Review patient immunization histories and identify vaccines that may be due
- Educate patients and families about recommended vaccines
- Accurately document immunizations in the electronic health record and applicable immunization systems
- Support vaccine inventory, storage, temperature monitoring, and supply management
- Assist with immunization outreach, reminder/recall, and follow-up activities
- Prepare patients and clinical areas for immunization services
- Follow vaccine safety, infection prevention, storage, and handling requirements
- Work closely with the Immunization Coordinator, providers, nursing staff, and other members of the clinical team
- Provide general Medical Assistant support as needed to meet clinic and patient care needs
