About The Position

Altum Health is a department within the University Health Network with over 300 employees across several sites. We offer a full continuum of prevention, rehabilitation, and health care services to third party payors and individuals, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), employers, and insurers. Requirements

Recognized Massage Therapy Degree/Diploma
Registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario required
Proof of valid malpractice insurance required

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 1 Year working in an interdisciplinary practice preferred

Responsibilities

Setting goals and providing treatment plans for clients to initiate appropriate treatment intervention based on clinical assessment.
Gauging the condition of the client’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion, and muscle strength.
Proposing a specific treatment plan for the client.
Consulting with other health care professionals in an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for clients.
Providing ongoing evaluation of client progress.
Administering and collecting outcome measurement information.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Communicating to appropriate referral sources and stakeholders.
Educating clients on how to improve their posture and teaching them strengthening, stretching, and rehabilitative exercises as well as relaxation techniques.
Performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
Working in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner.
