About The Position

Under general supervision and direction, the technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. Duties include: processing specimens for Microbiology as per established policies and procedures; interpretation and reporting of stained smears.

Requirements

• Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
• Successful completion of an accredited MLT program
• Recent experience in Microbiology required; to include proficiency in reading Gram stained smears, recognition of colonial morphology, identification of pathogens and reporting of susceptibility testing results.
• Demonstrated knowledge of bio-safety principles.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
