About The Position

ESi Technologists support multidisciplinary investigations through hands-on work in laboratory, field, and technical environments. They collaborate closely with consulting and administrative teams, contributing to evidence handling, testing, data collection, and visualization in a dynamic setting that values teamwork, curiosity, and skill development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent; or five+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Maintain required certifications.
  • Experience running a laboratory and handling artifacts preferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory and facility safety practices.
  • Knowledge of digital photography and image handling a plus.
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office; Internet software skills.
  • Knowledge of data analysis in Excel.
  • Ability to become proficient in software relevant to instrumentation and data analysis.
  • Assesses own strengths and development areas; pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others.

Responsibilities

  • Supports consultants in project work involving lab facilities and lab equipment.
  • Supports inspections via basic documentation and hands-on assistance.
  • Capable of SOP development and/or implementation.
  • Interacts with clients and other personnel at a job site, maintain safety and control of the area where data is being collected or test is being performed.
  • Leads routine site inspections.
  • Generally able to independently determine the best way to process, analyze, and view collected data.
  • Able to safely conduct inspections and tests.
  • Independently, or with a consultant, can travel to a job site to collect data, perform tests, or participate in a site inspection.
  • Generates high-quality internal and external work products in a timely manner.
  • Capable of communicating/working directly with internal and external clients.
  • Sets up standard and special-purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, orders, and repairs all relevant laboratory equipment.
  • Capable of identifying organizational needs.
  • Prepares and maintains laboratory cleanliness and organization for testing and/or inspections.
  • Skilled in the operation of a wide variety of test equipment.
  • Maintains calibrated equipment (and associated certificates and paperwork).
  • Duties will include running SEM, TGA, DSC, and FTIR equipment.
