About The Position

The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs. Pinecrest Supports & Services Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Dietitian to join our dynamic healthcare team. Requirements

• Possession of provisional Louisiana dietitian/nutritionist license.

Responsibilities

• Calculates, writes, adapts, and modifies diets or menus to meet individual needs.
• Counsels and teaches patients and their families the practical and technical aspects for the diet as it relates to the particular patient's health problem.
• Supervises subordinates in the production of meals and service, sanitation and storage.
• Assesses and plans nutritional development of a caseload of approximately 90 intellectually disabled individuals.
• Consults and collaborates with physicians and other professionals regarding individual needs to ensure best quality of life.
• Provides medical nutritional therapy for those individuals with acute and chronic nutritional problems.
• Does monthly weight analysis and determines potential risk factors and makes diet recommendations.
• Completes a monthly progress note for all assigned individuals and a yearly in depth assessment, including pertinent lab value, food and medication interactions.
