About The Position

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a motivated and passionate Clinical Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our team at a leading inpatient rehabilitation hospital. This role is ideal for a dietitian looking for flexibility, meaningful patient interaction, and the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic interdisciplinary care team. The role involves conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, developing individualized care plans, providing nutrition counseling, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system. The dietitian will monitor patient progress and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Current/active state dietitian license (or eligibility)
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of recent clinical experience in acute or rehab hospital settings
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enteral/parenteral nutrition strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk, following facility protocols and evidence-based guidelines
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans to support recovery and optimize patient outcomes
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and families, focusing on disease management, recovery, and prevention of readmissions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team to deliver coordinated patient-centered care
  • Ensure documentation is thorough, accurate, and timely within the electronic medical record system
  • Monitor patient progress, reviewing labs, weights, and clinical status to adjust interventions as needed
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and serve as a nutrition resource for hospital staff
