About The Position

Ginger Cove, a premier CARF-accredited life-care retirement community located on a beautiful waterfront campus in Annapolis, is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Registered Dietitian to join our Culinary Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dietitian who enjoys building lasting relationships with residents, working alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team, and helping older adults achieve their best possible quality of life. As our Registered Dietitian, you'll play an essential role in promoting resident health and wellness through individualized nutrition care, education, and collaboration with our clinical and culinary teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field, Masters preferred.
  • Must be a registered/licensed Dietitian and maintain licensure.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with colleagues, residents, and their families.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time-frame.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Review and ensure appropriate therapeutic diet orders.
  • Monitor residents' nutritional status and recommend interventions as needed.
  • Document nutrition assessments and interventions within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents and their families.
  • Meet with residents during meal service to evaluate satisfaction and nutritional needs.
  • Assist new residents with successful dining transitions.
  • Support hydration and nutrition initiatives throughout the community.
  • Partner with nursing, physicians, speech therapy, and culinary leadership to optimize resident outcomes.
  • Assist with seasonal menu development and nutritional analysis.
  • Support infection prevention, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct nutrition-related staff education and in-service training.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
