About The Position

Equip is a leading virtual, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program dedicated to ensuring access to effective treatment for everyone. Founded in 2019, Equip operates as a fully virtual company and is recognized for its strong outcomes and innovative treatment approach. The Registered Dietitian will be responsible for all nutrition-related aspects of care, working collaboratively with a dedicated care team and family members to restore a healthy relationship with food. Care is delivered remotely through Equip's telehealth platform, utilizing a family-based treatment approach for children undergoing eating disorder treatment.

Requirements

  • Active license in Illinois.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Licensed RDN required.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 80 patients, with each patient receiving care for up to 52 weeks.
  • Strong skills in communication and collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Organized and results-driven.
  • Ability to understand and balance business needs and clinical priorities.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • Eating disorder experience preferred.
  • Some exposure/experience to family-based eating disorder treatment approaches preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients and families in transforming maladaptive eating patterns into a healthy relationship with food through ongoing support.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient's unique needs, including initial nutrition assessments, meal plan prescriptions, and target weight range assessments via telehealth.
  • Guide patients through exposure to fear/challenge foods.
  • Clearly communicate patient's meal plan and nutrition-related concerns to all team members, providing education on how to address these concerns.
  • Maintain a united front with the treatment team in interactions with families.
  • Assist with discharge planning.
  • Update treatment plans weekly with patient's progress, treatment goals, and nutrition-related assignments or directives.
  • Continuously reassess nutritional needs and communicate recommendations to the treatment team and families.
  • Deliver evidence-based nutrition education to challenge irrational thoughts and beliefs around food, nutrition, weight, and shape that fuel eating disorder behaviors.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with families, including rapport building, appropriate boundary setting, and a working alliance toward treatment goals.
  • Perform thorough documentation within Equip’s electronic medical record in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
