About The Position

DiningRD is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian to work in skilled nursing facilities. The consultant will be responsible for monthly onsite visits (24 hours/month) to complete food safety and sanitation audits, meal/dining observation audits, and address nutrition referrals for high-risk residents. The role involves improving the lives of seniors by ensuring their meals meet high nutritional standards, working closely with the clinical team to monitor resident nutritional needs, providing nutrition education, contributing to MDS assessments, and formulating nutrition assessments. The dietitian will also provide guidance on dining services, meal rounds, sanitation best practices, and ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role includes training and guiding dining managers and staff, assisting with policy development, and monitoring the implementation of nutritional care systems.

Requirements

  • Commission on dietetic registration (CDR) credentials.
  • Licensed (if required by State).
  • CDR # from ASCEND/Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Required).
  • State License, if required for a Registered Dietitian (Required).
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Enjoy coaching and mentoring others.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of consulting experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Long Term Care preferred but not required.
  • clinical nutrition: 2 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly onsite visits (24 hours/month) to skilled nursing facilities.
  • Conduct food safety and sanitation audits.
  • Perform meal/dining observation audits.
  • Address nutrition referrals for high-risk residents.
  • Monitor the nutritional needs of residents in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Provide nutrition education.
  • Work on MDS assessments with the team.
  • Formulate nutrition assessments with input from the dining manager.
  • Provide guidance on all dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Train and provide guidance to dining managers and staff.
  • Assist with policy development.
  • Monitor the implementation of effective nutritional care systems.
