About The Position

A healthcare facility is seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian to provide on-site nutrition services for individuals receiving care in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The Dietitian will work under the supervision of medical leadership and collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support patient health and wellness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Current Texas Dietitian License.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Dietitian.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification, maintained throughout the assignment.
• Meet all immunization requirements.
• Successfully complete required drug screening.
• Successfully complete fingerprinting/background screening.
• Complete all required facility and state-mandated training.
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition assessments and nutrition care services to individuals served throughout the facility.
• Develop individualized nutrition plans to improve health outcomes and address medical needs.
• Evaluate patients' health status, dietary restrictions, goals, and nutritional progress.
• Monitor dietary intake and provide education on healthy eating habits and balanced nutrition.
• Consult with patients, family members, and treatment teams regarding nutritional needs and recommendations.
• Document nutrition assessments and recommendations in the medical record.
• Review and approve patient menus and communicate dietary requirements to Food Services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning as needed.
