About The Position

The Registered Dietitian plans nutritional programs and provides education to assist in the promotion of health and management of disease. This is a temporary role up to 40 hours a week through January 2027, with a schedule of Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The position is open to 3, 4, or 5 days in clinic at our Edina location. Almara Women's Health is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from institution credentialed by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and (ACEND)
  • Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program
  • Licensed Dietitian through Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice
  • Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
  • Ability to complete job required training.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.).
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Work in the clinic during business hours.
  • Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required.
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Travel to other work locations, if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credentialing preferred OR experience in management of patients with diabetes

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education for an assigned patient population.
  • Provide counseling and education services to patients with diabetes, obesity and other indications that require nutritional management.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and their family or support.
  • Evaluate patient and family response to education.
  • Implement an individualized nutritional care plan with communication of the plan to the provider; establishes a follow-up system and maintains documentation.
  • Collaborate in the development, review, updating and implementation of educational materials to meet the needs of patients and health professionals.
  • Utilize approved protocols for medication management to advance the plan of care when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other health care providers in the management and care delivery of patients per protocol and as needed to deliver the highest quality patient care.
  • Communicate regularly with MDs and APPs to best implement high quality nutrition programs.
  • Partner with Providers and Leaders to ensure goals and strategies of Women’s Health are implemented in the growth and development of nutrition services.
  • Practice within the scope of MN State rules/regulations.
  • Maintain safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
