About The Position
The Dietician position assists in the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services. The Dietician will assist in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities; including patient care, non-patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all hospital related activities.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential
- Active Illinois state licensure (or eligibility)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and weight management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative healthcare team
- Fluent in Spanish (required)
Nice To Haves
- Prior clinical or healthcare experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition and weight management plans
- Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling and ongoing patient education
- Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed
- Document clinical notes and patient outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with surgeons, providers, and clinical staff as part of a multidisciplinary care team
- Support patients before and after surgical procedures with evidence-based nutrition strategies
