About The Position

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/Echo Tech) will perform Echocardiograms and write preliminary reports. This role involves logging and filing completed procedures, and regularly upgrading knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of patients served. The position also requires maintaining professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations. Responsibilities include making patient appointments, ensuring accuracy of billing, and performing EKGs, stress tests, and Holter monitors as needed. The role also entails performing other work-related duties as requested/directed and consistently providing service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers in a manner that reflects Cape Cod Hospitals’ commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.

Requirements

• Must possess at least one of the following certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• At least one year of specialized experience in Doppler Echocardiography.
• Physical and mental health appropriate to the demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform Echocardiogram and write preliminary report.
• Log and file completed procedures.
• Regularly upgrade knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of patients served.
• Maintain professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
• Make patient appointments and insure accuracy of billing.
• Perform EKGs, stress tests and Holter monitors as needed.
• Perform other work related duties as requested/directed.
