About The Position

This role involves performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to evaluate cardiac anatomy, function, valvular disease, and hemodynamics. The sonographer will obtain high-quality images and Doppler data, identify abnormal findings, and assist cardiologists during procedures like Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE). The position also includes documenting findings, preparing preliminary reports, and adhering to imaging standards.

Requirements

  • Current credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing (CCI).
  • Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Physical and mental health appropriate to the demands of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of clinical experience. New grads from an accredited sonography program will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical history, clinical indications, physician notes and prior cardiac imaging studies.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images, Doppler data and myocardial strain imaging (GLS) for evaluation of cardiac anatomy, function, valvular disease and hemodynamics.
  • Identify abnormal findings and cardiac pathology.
  • Administer ultrasound enhancing agent as needed per established protocols.
  • Assist cardiologists during Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE).
  • Perform advanced imaging techniques including three-dimensional (3D) echocardiogram.
  • Document technical findings and prepare preliminary report for physician interpretation.
  • Complete appropriate billing of exam and contrast as applicable.
  • Adhere to IAC echocardiography imaging standards.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Perform other work-related duties as requested/directed.
