Requirements

  • Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state in good standing.
  • 5 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
  • Valid Driver’s License with no moving violations in the last 5 years.
  • Own reliable transportation.
  • Ability to push/pull +/- 200 lbs. (e.g., patients in wheelchairs).
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in and out of your vehicle and roll it in and out of home/facilities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer Service Skills – ability to work with staff at nursing homes to ensure their dental needs are met.
  • Computer Skills – ability to log chart notes at the time of visit.
  • Organization – ability to keep RDH supplies and dentures organized, and daily schedule organized and updated.
  • Multi-Tasker – ability to prioritize and address multiple demands concurrently.
  • Communication – ability to communicate effectively with clinical coordinator, patients, responsible parties, and facility staff.

Responsibilities

  • Providing treatment to patients in facilities by working with the DDS, clinical coordinator, and facility staff.
  • Completing on-site hygiene services.
  • Working with clinical support managers and facility staff to ensure patient and facility needs are met.
  • Reviewing patient lists prior to visits and ensuring all necessary supplies/equipment are available.
  • Arriving on time, checking in with the dental contact, and reviewing the list of patients to be seen.
  • Transporting, setting up, and taking down equipment and supplies in the designated workspace.
  • Coordinating patient and chart transfers with facility staff.
  • Performing required care including taking X-rays, cleaning teeth and dentures, applying sealants, and assessing patient oral health to report findings to the dentist, adhering to ADA and Company standards.
  • Explaining procedures to patients as they are completed.
  • Following up with facility staff to review recommendations for patients.
  • Entering chart notes for treatment provided into Salesforce at the time of treatment.
  • Ensuring OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations are followed during patient treatment.
  • Ensuring correct handling of disposables before leaving facilities.
  • Checking out with the dental contact at the facility, including reviewing chart notes and leaving printed copies for patient charts.
  • Working with the clinical support manager on schedules and follow-up of patient care and treatment.
  • Maintaining dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance routines.
  • Inventorying supplies and ordering as needed.
  • Following regulated OSHA guidelines in handling and sterilization of instruments.
  • Utilizing personal vehicle for equipment/supply transport and traveling to scheduled facility visits.
  • Being available via cell phone during the workday.
  • Expensing purchases for office needs, unforeseen supply purchases, and other reimbursable business-related expenses.
