About The Position

Big Smiles, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in Vancouver, WA and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their school. Our innovative in school dental program offers something different than a traditional dental practice. With a workday that ends with the school day and no nights or weekends, our program is perfect for people looking for a diverse and different working environment, working parents and anyone who wants to make a difference in the dental field. Big Smiles is the nation’s leading in-school dental program founded more than two decades ago by two moms, who happen to also be dentists. The founders saw a tremendous need among underserved school aged children who did not have easy access to dental care and who often suffered from poor oral hygiene, tooth decay, pain and associated health problems. Knowing that many parents could not take their children to the dentist due to issues including time off from work and transportation challenges, they sought to bring the care to the need. Using the latest technology in portable equipment, a team of dedicated dental professionals provide preventive and restorative dental care to children right at school. Our flexibility and expertise allow us to transform classrooms, auditoriums, gyms or other suitable areas into fully functional dental offices for the day. Every year, through its devoted group of dental professionals, Big Smiles puts happy, healthy smiles on over 500,000 children from coast to coast.

Requirements

• Licensed RDH
• Working experience with Sealants and Polishing
• Organized. Reliable. Ability to multi-task.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
• CPR certification card
• Min. of 1 year working experience as a Dental Hygienist
• Digital X-ray Imaging experience
• Must have Valid driver license and a willingness to travel to schools in neighboring counties
• Works well with children
• Team player and able to work on a small team

Responsibilities

• Provide dental care to underserved children at their school.
• Work with Sealants and Polishing.
• Operate state-of-the-art portable dental equipment.
• Utilize the latest technology & digital radiography.

• Working a school day schedule (about 6 – 7 hours); on average between 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
