About The Position

Dakota Dental 4 Kids is opening a new location in Sioux Falls and is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join their dental team. The RDH will be responsible for providing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, professional, and committed to creating a positive and comfortable patient experience.

Requirements

Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license required
Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
Current CPR/BLS certification required
Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, instruments, and periodontal therapy
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety

Nice To Haves

Experience with dental software and digital charting preferred
Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or periodontal care preferred
Bilingual skills are a plus
Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification preferred

Responsibilities

Perform dental cleanings, scaling, root planing, and preventive hygiene services
Conduct periodontal assessments and charting
Take and review dental radiographs/X-rays in accordance with state regulations
Administer local anesthetic and nitrous oxide
Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive dental care
Apply fluoride treatments and sealants as appropriate
Screen patients for signs of oral disease and report findings to the dentist
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols
Prepare treatment rooms and maintain hygiene equipment and supplies
Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to support comprehensive patient care
