About The Position
The Registered Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. CHOICE Healthcare Services provides pediatric dental care and describes its mission as expanding access to healthcare. The role offers a pay range of $20.77–$27.84 per hour, based on experience, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Certification from a dental college, or at least 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- California Registered Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant license.
- X-ray certification.
- Coronal polish certification.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Sealant certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor during procedures.
- Operate x-ray equipment and take x-rays.
- Perform prophylaxis (prophy) on teeth.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart and develop treatment plans with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up and prepare rooms for hygiene and treatment.
- Take intraoral images (IOs).
- Perform charting and sealants, if applicable.
