About The Position
The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. The role assists the doctor during procedures and supports patient care, imaging, hygiene, charting, sterilization, and room preparation. The listed pay range is $20.77–$27.84 per hour, based on experience. The position includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- California Registered Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant license.
- X-ray certification.
- Coronal polish certification.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certification from a dental college, or at least 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
- Sealant certification (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor in procedures.
- Operate X-ray equipment and take X-rays.
- Perform teeth prophylaxis.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart and treatment plan with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up and prepare rooms for hygiene and treatment.
- Take intraoral images (IOs).
- Perform charting.
- Apply sealants, if applicable.
