About The Position

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a personable and confident Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our stellar team virtually at the Lifemark Health - OT Consulting in Vancouver, BC. Established in 1986 as the province’s first private practice occupational therapy company, we have since expanded our services to include physiotherapy, kinesiology, and clinical counselling. Thus far, we have assisted thousands of individuals to return to work and/or to a productive lifestyle through assessment, treatment, and prevention. In this role, the RCC will be supporting our interdisciplinary team and be responsible for the provision of intake assessments and treatment services for clients with a variety of psychological and physical diagnosis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with clients referred from third party funders, who are in a return-to-work process, following a head injury or other type of injury in an accident. Our site boasts a robust referral network and several specialty programs, with an opportunity for growth. This individual will be involved in the Customized Rehabilitation program, formerly referred to as Occupational Rehab.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Counselling / Clinical Psychology
  • Minimum of 3 months of experience in return to work / physical rehabilitation setting
  • Previous experience providing treatment to individuals who have experienced a head injury
  • Professional registration as a full RCC with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) or CCC with the CCPA, with authorisation for independent practice
  • Ability to use creative and structured approaches to assist clients to self-manage
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other correspondence
  • Ability to communicate using different styles and methods to suit individual clients and situations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with chronic pain and post concussive symptoms are an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with assessment, consultation and psychoeducational services
  • Active participation in regular team conferences involving client and members of the interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, clients, employers, referral sources, family members and other counsellors
  • Psychological case management input and direction to the therapy teams pertaining to initial assessment, treatment planning, clients' progress, conflict resolution, stakeholder discussions and problem solving, and discharge planning
  • Quality reporting and communication
  • Orientation and mentoring to assist other team members to effectively manage clients' psychosocial issues
