About The Position

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a personable and confident Registered Clinical Counselor to join our awesome team at our Lifemark Harvey Avenue Clinic. The primary focus of this position will be to work in a multidisciplinary treatment program. Based on the applicant’s skills and interests, other roles for this position could include providing services to mental health clients funded by third-party insurance programs (eg., long term disability, ICBC, and/or WorkSafeBC); supporting other multidisciplinary programs at the clinic (eg., occupational rehabilitation or concussion recovery); or providing services to private mental health clients. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counselling/ Clinical Psychology
  • Registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counselors
  • Training and/or experience with evidence-based treatment for PTSD.
  • Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
  • Clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
  • Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience preparing assessment, progress and discharge reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and head injury/concussion management

Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate psycho-education groups for adults with PTSD and other trauma-related disorders
  • Adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
  • Participate weekly in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients’ treatment plan and goals, the progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
  • Complete administrative tasks to include file management, communication, and report writing.
