About The Position

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, is hiring a full-time Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist for a day-shift role in its cardiac catheterization and invasive cardiovascular environments. The position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and participates in an on-call rotation of approximately 15 days per month, including about every third or fourth weekend. On-call staff must be able to respond within 30 minutes. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates. The specialist assists physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and electrophysiology studies. The role includes operating and monitoring advanced imaging and hemodynamic equipment, collecting accurate data, maintaining a sterile environment, preparing and monitoring patients, documenting procedures, and coordinating post-procedure care. The specialist administers medication under a qualified physician’s direction, follows hospital policies, HIPAA requirements, and accreditation standards, responds to emergency cases such as STEMI activations, and participates in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives. The position requires graduation from a diploma, associate, or bachelor-level health science program; RCIS and BLS credentials; and at least one year of related experience in an invasive cardiac environment. ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire. The stated full-time base pay range is $38.29–$58.66 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed acute care facility in Hampton, Virginia.

Requirements

Graduate of a diploma, associate, or bachelor-level health science program, including fields such as cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing.
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
At least one year of related experience, such as work as a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist or in an invasive cardiac environment, is required.
Must participate in on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time.

Responsibilities
