About The Position

SUMMARY The RBT will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to individuals with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the school. The RBT will collect data, implement behavior strategies as written in the Behavior Plan, assist with teacher training, and assist the BCBA with clinical assessment as needed. RBT’s work under the supervision of a BCBA-D or BCBA. Essential components of this positions are listed below but subject to change. Requirements

  • Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings.
  • Employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the church.
  • Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the polices of the Diocese
  • High school degree or equivalent is required
  • Must have RBT certification or be a certified ABA therapist
  • Two or more years of prior experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret basic correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Must have a pleasant telephone manner and good communication skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform behavioral strategies and holds as needed based on the students individual behavioral plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct student care in 1:1 settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.
  • Assist with teacher and teaching assistant training in line with students individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instruction by the BCBA.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Assist BCBA with skill acquisitions and behavior reduction assessments.
  • Assist BCBA in preparing client materials as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents, and school personnel including outside professionals, therapists and co-workers.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
