Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
- CPI, Handle With Care, or equivalent crisis intervention certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within orientation period
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings
- Autism spectrum or behavioral therapy program
Responsibilities
- Accurately record vital signs
- Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN
- Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision
- Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct RBT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques
- Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene
- Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
