About The Position

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Dallas is dedicated to bridging medical and behavioral care so that no child falls through the cracks. We specialize in supporting children recovering from complex medical and developmental challenges, including brain injuries, acute illnesses, developmental delays, psychiatric diagnoses, and other life-altering events—all within a nurturing environment. As a leader in pediatric rehabilitation and behavioral health services, our Dallas campus provides 60 private patient rooms, ICU step-down, neurobehavioral, and rehabilitation units for a seamless continuum of care, and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym and structured therapeutic activity spaces. The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct behavioral intervention services to children and adolescents. The RBT implements individualized treatment plans to support behavioral, social, and emotional growth in patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) required.
  • Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents in behavioral health, developmental, or medical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs and behavior intervention plans as directed by the BCBA.
  • Collect and record accurate behavioral data throughout treatment sessions.
  • Support patients in developing daily living, communication, and coping skills.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviors using approved techniques.
  • Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care.
  • Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment aligned with hospital policies.
