About The Position

Step Forward ABA is seeking passionate Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join their team. The role involves working one-on-one with children with Autism, utilizing evidence-based ABA techniques to foster independence, social skills, and personal growth through tailored activities. The RBT will teach communication and functioning skills, implement behavior plans, collect data, and collaborate with analysts, families, and peers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Pass a National Criminal Background check
  • RBT Certification required
  • Completion of RBT certification process within 30 days of employment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to physically engage with children in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 30lbs and maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.
  • Must be willing to travel and work in-home settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish-speaking skills are a plus but not required.
  • Childcare (nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, tutor, etc.) (Preferred)
  • Mental health advocates and professionals (QMHP, behavioral health technicians) (Preferred)
  • Camp counselors, volunteers, youth faith group leaders or youth coaching (Preferred)
  • Degrees in special education, teaching, psychology, sociology, or related fields (Preferred)
  • Experience as direct support, paraprofessionals, or life skills assistants (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children using evidence-based ABA techniques to promote independence, social skills, and personal growth through fun and interactive activities tailored to each child's unique needs.
  • Teaching skills to enhance communication and functioning
  • Implementing and facilitating behavior plans, monitoring outcomes, and adjusting strategies as needed
  • Restructuring environments to support positive outcomes and reduce problematic behaviors
  • Collecting data and maintaining accurate records
  • Communicating with behavior analysts, families, and peers to coordinate activities and advocate for individual needs
  • Completing daily progress notes and maintaining accurate records
