Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) ASD/ABA in Flemington, NJ
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our dynamic team in Flemington, NJ. In this vital role, you will work closely with an older (16 years old) individual with autism and implement individualized behavior intervention plans. Your energetic approach will help foster positive behavioral changes, support skill development, and improve overall quality of life. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health and special education. This is a 16 year old male that needs services Mon-Tue-Thu-Fri 2:30p-5:30p (12 hours a week). The RBT needs to be experienced with behaviors.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with adults or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder.
- Excellent communication skills for teaching, explaining strategies, and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to behavior management and treatment outcomes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care practices, and medical documentation standards.
- Compassionate approach with patience and adaptability when working with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support clients’ goals.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), to promote independence.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress accurately to inform treatment plans.
- Support teaching strategies that enhance communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors tailored to each individual’s needs.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent implementation of care plans.
- Document all sessions thoroughly in medical documentation systems, including progress notes and behavior management reports.
