About The Position

Crystal Brook District Hospital provides essential healthcare services to the community, delivering 24/7 accident and emergency care alongside a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, maternity, and aged care services. Services include general medical and surgical care, same-day stays and short-term care, inpatient and outpatient services and patient transport, obstetrics and palliative care, day therapy centres and Meals on Wheels, parenting and family education programs, and personal and planned care for older people, including respite services. Maternity and Obstetrics services include a birthing suite with shared care arrangements, antenatal education, childbirth and parenting classes, and postnatal community midwifery visits. Residential Aged Care services are available at the hospital and Southern Flinders Health, offering high-level care and respite options for older people.

Requirements

  • Registration or eligibility for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Undergo employment screening.
  • Meet immunisation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 24/7 accident and emergency care.
  • Provide a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, maternity, and aged care services.
  • Offer general medical and surgical care, including plastic surgery.
  • Provide same-day stays and short-term care.
  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient services and patient transport.
  • Offer obstetrics and palliative care.
  • Operate day therapy centres and Meals on Wheels.
  • Conduct parenting and family education programs.
  • Provide personal and planned care for older people, including respite services.
  • Manage maternity and obstetrics services, including a birthing suite with shared care arrangements.
  • Conduct antenatal education, childbirth and parenting classes.
  • Provide postnatal community midwifery visits.
  • Offer residential aged care at the hospital and Southern Flinders Health.
  • Provide high-level care and respite options for older people.
