About The Position

Great American Insurance Group's Strategic Comp division is seeking a Regional Vice President - Work Comp Insurance for a leadership role based in Richmond, Roanoke, or Lynchburg, VA. This remote position involves managing an assigned book of workers' compensation accounts, focusing on profitability and renewal retention. The role requires strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with producers and insureds. While marketing to agents and managing submissions is handled by marketing staff, this position focuses on servicing existing accounts and leading a team of service professionals. The role requires up to 60% travel, including overnight stays, and a company car is provided.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience in account management, production, and/or managing a loss control department for a commercial insurance company, preferably in workers’ compensation.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and working with loss runs.
  • Must reside in Virginia.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience in underwriting, loss control, or claims is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the team of service professionals who will service the book.
  • Directing roll-out of program and service plans.
  • Monitoring accounts for trends and reacting appropriately when action needs to be taken.
  • Communicating relevant information about individual accounts to the marketing and underwriting departments.
  • Building strong contacts with insureds’ senior management and being their primary relationship contact.
  • Performing other duties as directed.
