About The Position

The Regional Transportation Manager supports transportation operations across service, cost, health and safety, quality, food defense, sustainability, legal requirements, and policy compliance. The role provides team leadership and direction, implements transportation strategy, and executes operations to deliver effective logistics solutions across routes to market while balancing service and cost. It works collaboratively with internal partners and third-party logistics vendors to manage operations, resolve issues, and execute transportation plans.

Based at Mondelēz International’s Regional Distribution Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, this hybrid role oversees logistics operations across the supply chain network, including shipments between suppliers, bakeries, regional distribution centers, external manufacturers, customers, and branches. It focuses on carrier performance, cost efficiency, regional KPI achievement, and service and carrier strategy initiatives. The schedule is Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with after-hours availability on demand when needed. Travel is 20%–30%.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree at minimum or 15 or more years of industry or retail experience.
• At least 15 years of transportation and/or logistics experience.
• Experience setting and executing supply chain and/or logistics strategies in a matrix organization.
• Extensive expertise in transportation operations, third-party logistics management, transportation management software, and/or transportation control tower functions.
• Experience concurrently managing numerous third-party transportation suppliers with significant budgets.
• Negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate and build relationships effectively.
• Knowledge of international transportation network design, customer service, and collaboration.
• Experience leading and motivating a high-performance team.
• Financial budget planning, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with logistics software such as TMS, WMS, and ERP systems.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Carrier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel 20%–30%.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transportation strategy and optimize across all modes while balancing service and cost.
• Lead safety, service, and cost key performance initiatives.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for serving customers and coordinate with internal partners and third-party logistics vendors to ensure effective management, timely solutions, and execution.
• Develop transportation solutions and conduct regular vendor business reviews to assess performance and support vendor selection and negotiations.
• Ensure products reach the right place at the right time and in the right quantity, damage-free.
• Manage risk and continuity of supply through demand forecasting, transportation capacity management, and supplier relationships.
• Lead continuous improvement and innovation by using internal and external input and promoting best-in-class practices.
• Provide team leadership and direction for the transportation organization.
• Oversee shipments among suppliers, bakeries, regional distribution centers, external manufacturers, customers, and branches.
• Optimize carrier performance, cost efficiency, and regional KPI achievement.
