About The Position

The Regional Manager, Maine is a full-time, exempt position based at the Portland Transportation Center. This role involves frequent regional travel within Maine and New Hampshire. The position reports to the Director of Corporate Operations and is responsible for fostering a supportive and proactive environment for staff, managing staffing needs, recruitment, training, retention, and consistent discipline and accountability for all Maine staff. A primary objective is ensuring superior customer experience through meticulous execution of details, including clean facilities, well-maintained equipment, timely departures, and friendly, helpful staff. The role also oversees capital maintenance planning, operational expenses, repair work, vendor coordination, workflow analysis for efficiency improvements, marketing collaboration, customer complaint resolution, and participation in strategic planning. The manager will oversee the day-to-day functioning of all CCL operations in ME, including terminals, facilities, and various staff roles such as Terminal Managers, Ticket Agents, Cleaning and Janitorial Staff, Grounds Staff, Mechanics, Bus Servicing Staff, and Dock Help. Additionally, the role involves maintaining external relationships and representing Concord Coach Lines in the community. The position requires an initial training period of 30 to 60 days to learn operations and job basics, with a willingness to assist in various tasks to ensure smooth operations and set a positive example.

Requirements

  • 4-year College Degree required; business focus preferred.
  • Hands-on, operational management experience required.
  • Superior leadership and communications skills.
  • Computer proficiency is a must with the ability to learn industry specific platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing needs, recruitment, training, retention, and management of all personnel in Maine.
  • Ensure superior customer experience through execution of details: clean and well-maintained facilities and equipment, trips that leave on time, and staff that is friendly and helpful.
  • Oversee all capital maintenance planning/projects in Maine and day-to-day operational expenses and facilitate repair work.
  • Coordinate with vendors and staff.
  • Analyze workflows to determine areas of opportunity to streamline operations and improve efficiencies.
  • Work closely with Marketing to promote services in Maine.
  • Address elevated customer complaints to resolution.
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions with VP level staff across the company.
  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of all CCL operations in ME, including Bangor Terminal, Driver Layover Facility, Augusta Terminal, Portland facilities, Coastal Agencies, and third-party agencies.
  • Oversee terminal staff including: Terminal Managers, Ticket Agents, Cleaning and Janitorial Staff, Grounds Staff, Mechanics, Bus Servicing Staff, and Dock Help.
  • Work closely with Concord Coach Lines department heads based in Concord, NH (HR, Safety, Accounting, Fleet Maintenance, Operations, Marketing).
  • Maintain external relationships and represent Concord Coach Lines in the community.
  • Assist staff in servicing equipment, selling tickets, plowing snow, and loading luggage during training or as needed.
