About The Position

The Regional Technical Manager is responsible for leading and managing the regional technical group by aligning technical resources to business support, growth and innovation. They will direct the regional technical team on such initiatives as developing new products, focusing technical strategies and resources on business continuity and growth, managing lab activities and providing technical training to the regional teams with the overall goal of having solution-oriented products and services to help mitigate well failures and prolong E&P assets.

Requirements

  • Training, presenting, report writing, interfacing with customers
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis understanding and experience
  • Ability to travel 40% – 70% in Permian Basin
  • 5 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry in a technology role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in problem resolution of scale, corrosion and paraffin
  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Engineering or Chemistry
  • Oilfield Chemical Service experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to field/sales staff and customers in the Permian Basin
  • Make technical recommendations and dosages to customers for issues including: scale, corrosion, paraffin, etc.
  • Suggest monitoring procedures and KPIs to customers
  • Provide technical reports to internal and external customers
  • Attend customer technical meetings and conduct technical presentations
  • Collection of field samples
  • Lab testing of field samples using the Midland lab
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) reporting
  • Build and maintain relationships with high level technical customer contacts
  • Leverage customer contacts as a method of gaining additional and/or new business
  • Ensure technical capabilities are aligned with needs of customers and/or market
  • Assist in the development and roll out of new products and services that are beneficial to the business
  • Train field/sales staff and customers in our products for controlling scale, corrosion, paraffin, etc.
  • Support and assist in implementing and maintaining certified management systems ascribed to DK such as ISO 9001
  • Identify training needs of personnel
  • Promote awareness of risks and opportunities associated with their work
  • Maintain an understanding of the Quality policy and how they personally contribute to meeting DK objectives and goals
  • Support and assist in implementing and maintaining the RCMS program
  • Promote awareness of the RCMS guiding principles and Dorf Ketal's HSSE policy, objectives and goals in addition to how they can contribute to them
  • Other projects as required
  • Lead by example and mentor junior employees as needed
  • Communicate all issues and updates to upper management
  • Manage and assign technical activities and projects including technical personnel and lab staff as required to successfully support the region
  • Work closely with Region Sales Manager, District Managers, and others in the sales personnel in the organization to ensure technical and customer projects are being thoroughly completed bringing value to O&G Operators
