Under the leadership of the superintendent of schools, the regional superintendent of schools is an executive member of the superintendent’s cabinet (regional superintendents and function area chiefs) and holds varying degrees of responsibility for the TK-12 Catholic schools and their students in a distinct pastoral region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (ADLA). Collaborating, planning, and executing projects, duties and tasks with peer regional superintendents, function area chiefs in the Department of Catholic Schools (DCS), pastoral regional bishops and their staff, and ADLA Chancery departments, the regional superintendent leads a team which oversees schools with specific focus in areas such as, but not limited to: student and staff spiritual formation, student academic performance, curriculum and instruction, school budget and finance, student affairs, personnel relations, facilities, advancement, board development, and ADLA policy compliance. The regional superintendent is responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and execution of an integrated series of services and supports to schools designed to increase sustainability, promote academic achievement, advance Catholic formation, and advance school leader accountability so all children served receive a high-quality Catholic education.
