About The Position

Lions International is the largest service club organization in the world, with 1.4 million members serving locally and globally. The international association supports its members and clubs with over 300 staff members working on tools and technology to enhance service. The Regional Specialist will join the Global Action Team (GAT) to drive the understanding and adoption of strategic programmatic initiatives and resources that support the Association's objectives. This role is crucial for delivering and adapting membership, leadership, and service tools, resources, and grants to global service volunteers. The Specialist will work directly with field leaders to develop and support regional strategies and programs aimed at achieving regional membership development goals, increasing service impact, and fostering leadership development opportunities within their assigned geographic areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to navigate international business situations diplomatically.
  • Self-motivated and able to be successful with little oversight.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and provide an advanced understanding of the programs and initiatives of the Association and Foundation, with specific areas of focus (membership development, increase service reporting and impact, as well as leadership development activities.)
  • Develop dynamic and collaborative relationships with global volunteer leaders and build an understanding of their regional areas of focus, as well as the cultural differences, to provide regionalized support and service.
  • As the staff liaison for an assigned constitutional area(s), work with the GAT Constitutional Area Leader, and area leaders on identifying area challenges, and collaboratively develop strategies on how to overcome these challenges.
  • Collaborate with volunteer leaders and fellow GAT staff in the development of strategic leader plans for assigned geographic constitutional areas.
  • Review membership development grant applications and prepare staff reviews and recommendations for committee consideration. Post-approval the specialist will also track progress of grant funded activities, until close of grant.
  • Support Leaders in the field in the development of quarterly reports and provides insights to leaders based on trends and real-time data.
  • Monitor and understand regional data, including key performance indicators, and advises regional leaders based on data and trends.
  • Promote and monitor the uptake of local initiatives that align with specific areas of focus (Membership Development, Leadership Development, or Service Activities) and the usage of tools and resources.
  • Gather data from field leaders and recommends regional adaptations of tools, resources and local projects and initiatives to LCI development teams.
  • Assist with the coordination of area forum GAT events, convention, and annual meetings with leaders.
  • Coordinate and or conduct GAT regional training (virtually and in-person.) This includes the development of agendas, reports, and presentations in support of trainings/meetings.
  • With management’s approval, attend area conventions, meetings, forums, etc. to inform, train, and strategize with regional volunteer leaders.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications teams to develop regional GAT communications, including message drafting and revision.
  • Ensure appropriate utilization of leader budgets and supports the process of submission and tracking of required documentation.
