About The Position

This role is responsible for all activities associated with the expedient resolution of corrective action as it relates to non-compliance and participates in the implementation of closed-loop corrective action program (CAP). The position is an advocate for the CAP and serves as liaison between the business teams to provide effective and professional support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university or institution is required.
  • Typically, ten years of experience in a relevant role such as quality assurance, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, or operations in a nuclear environment required.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ASME NQA-1.
  • Knowledge of the application of corrective actions and nonconformance reporting and closure processes.
  • Knowledge of Cause Evaluation quality training (e.g., TapRoot, Kepner-Tregoe).
  • Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and trends and reporting results to management.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience at X-energy exceeding performance standards may be in lieu of years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Corrective Action Program software and database and maintain a thorough understanding of the capabilities and functionality of the system.
  • Review daily Condition Reports (CRs) to validate appropriate trend codes are applied, and ensure it includes a clear/concise problem description. Additionally, support the screening process in issue classification and action generation as necessary.
  • Develop condition report screening information; assists in obtaining information to clarify CRs; provides agenda and backup information to review new CRs, corrective actions, the extent of conditions, and assignments for disposition by the Corrective Action Review Board.
  • Monitor key metrics to track effectiveness of the CAP (i.e. aging CRs, closure of CRs, length of screening process) and provides information/data to management on Corrective & Preventive Actions statistics.
  • Verify effectiveness of implemented Corrective & Preventive Actions.
  • Monitor Corrective Action progress and ensure problems are being identified and resolved.
  • Formal closure of Corrective and/or Preventive Actions.
  • Participate in the Corrective Action Review Board (CARB) meeting.
  • Serve as Champion to work with interdepartmental groups (including Customers/Suppliers as necessary), and to document and complete Corrective & Preventive Actions.
  • Perform Benchmarks and Self Assessments as required and necessary to drive Continuous Improvement and ensure alignment with the nuclear industry.
  • Identify Corrective & Preventive Action steps needed to eliminate issue(s) and prevent re-occurrence.
  • Provide Corrective & Preventive Action support across all departments as required and support any urgent issues that require escalation.
  • Successfully influence members of the team to address and close CRs and actions in a timely manner.
  • Provide weekly and monthly feedback progress reports.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
