About The Position

Illinois Tool Works Inc. is seeking a Regional SAP Lead for MM/IM/EWM to own end-to-end procurement, inventory management, and warehouse execution processes in an automotive supplier environment. The role will deploy and evolve an SAP S/4HANA template across North American divisions and sites, balancing standard processes with justified local variations while supporting ITW’s decentralized culture. The third rollout will introduce SAP EWM, and the lead will guide warehouse management design and incorporate it into the template. The position is part of a visible SAP implementation core team and aligns strategic objectives with delivery needs. It is remote, with travel during key project phases and for support needs, up to 50%. The role leads the third rollout and subsequent rollouts, owns template governance and improvement, supports testing, data preparation, cutover, training, and post-go-live assistance, and collaborates with plant and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of hands-on SAP MM/WM experience.
  • At least one to two full SAP S/4HANA implementations in the automotive supplier industry.
  • Deep expertise in MM, IM, and EWM within automotive supply chain and logistics contexts; embedded EWM in S/4HANA is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automotive supplier operations.
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory movements and valuation, physical inventory/cycle counting, warehouse structure design, handling units, and RF/mobile execution.
  • Experience across SAP transformation project phases, including fit-to-standard/blueprint, configuration, data migration, testing, cutover, user training, and go-live.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, based on project and support needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with embedded EWM in S/4HANA.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the SAP MM/IM/EWM process template for rollouts and enhancements.
  • Lead fit-to-template workshops, determine where the standard applies, and identify genuine process gaps.
  • Recommend Stock Room Management, Basic EWM, or Advanced EWM for each site based on operational complexity and licensing cost.
  • Design EWM warehouse structures and processes, including receiving, putaway, picking, production supply staging, outbound shipping, and RF/mobile execution.
  • Work with key users to shape procurement, inventory, and warehouse processes that balance common foundations with local agility.
  • Strengthen automotive procurement processes, including scheduling agreements and forecast delivery schedules, subcontracting/outside processing, supplier consignment, and inter-plant/intercompany stock transfers.
  • Govern the template by evaluating division-specific requirements, approving justified variations, and documenting them.
  • Prioritize template improvements using lessons learned from completed rollouts and maintain a fit-to-standard, clean-core approach.
  • Coordinate with divisional teams to prepare and validate data.
  • Guide user acceptance testing and assist with test script creation.
  • Plan and execute MM/IM/EWM cutover, including inventory cutover, go-live physical inventory, and migration of open purchase orders and scheduling agreements.
  • Ensure SAP processes support compliance, auditability, inventory accuracy, and strong master data governance.
  • Train key users on configured processes and provide post-go-live functional support.
  • Act as functional lead for the third rollout and subsequent rollouts.
  • Direct and collaborate with external consultants during rollouts and continuous improvement initiatives, as necessary.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and progress to project leadership.
  • Mentor key users and local support teams to build in-house SAP capability.
  • Provide second-level support for MM/IM/EWM support requests.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership and manufacturing, quality, finance, and sales workstreams to align processes and ensure end-to-end consistency.
  • Support change management by translating technical solutions into clear business impacts for Purchasing, Materials, and Warehouse stakeholders.
