About The Position

The Regional Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing sanitation programs and sanitation team performance at regional processing facilities in Washington and Georgia. Reporting to the Senior Food Safety Manager, this role ensures sanitation practices are executed in accordance with company food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and the sanitation best practices. This position works closely with plant operations, maintenance, and Food Safety & Quality teams to ensure sanitation programs effectively support food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The Regional Sanitation Supervisor will supervise sanitation personnel, verify sanitation effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement in sanitation processes and hygienic design across assigned facilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, training, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals, cleaning systems, and hygienic practices.
  • Capable of working in cross functional teams that may be internal or external to Bolthouse.
  • Ability to manage multi-site food safety programs and complex investigations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and food safety teams.
  • Computer proficiency: word processing, spreadsheets, internet research, databases.
  • Excellent English communication, writing and reading skills required.
  • Equivalent sanitation leadership experience in food manufacturing may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience supervising sanitation teams in a processing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation practices in food processing environments.
  • Experience supporting food safety programs such as HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation verification programs.
  • Familiarity with sanitation verification tools including ATP testing and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate sanitation activities across regional facilities in Washington and Georgia.
  • Ensure sanitation procedures are implemented and executed in accordance with established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Monitor sanitation effectiveness through verification activities including ATP testing, visual inspections, and allergen control procedures where applicable.
  • Ensure sanitation schedules are effectively aligned with production operations to maintain hygienic processing environments.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and development to sanitation team members at assigned facilities.
  • Train sanitation personnel on proper cleaning procedures, chemical handling, sanitation tools, and hygienic practices.
  • Promote adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and workplace safety standards.
  • Support staffing coordination, scheduling, and performance management of sanitation personnel.
  • Support the Food Safety & Quality Assurance program by ensuring sanitation activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain sanitation programs aligned with regulations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture.
  • Assist with internal audits and third-party certification audits including programs such as Safe Quality Food Institute and PrimusGFS.
  • Ensure sanitation documentation and verification records are maintained and audit-ready.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections to verify equipment and facility cleanliness.
  • Support environmental monitoring programs by ensuring sanitation corrective actions are implemented when needed.
  • Partner with Food Safety leadership to validate sanitation procedures and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sanitation efficiency, hygienic equipment design, and cleaning effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to address sanitation challenges and improve cleanability of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Evaluate sanitation tools, chemicals, and processes to enhance sanitation performance and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain sanitation records including pre-operational inspection logs, sanitation verification records, and corrective action documentation.
  • Track sanitation performance metrics and provide regular updates to the Senior Food Safety Manager.
  • Assist with investigation and documentation of sanitation- related deviations or food safety incidents.
