About The Position

Desert Tech is a leader in manufacturing high-quality, accurate rifles for military, law enforcement, and private owners. We are passionate about our products and committed to developing future weapons technologies. This role is for a Regional Sales Representative, Commercial, at DTA Distributing, LLC, located in West Valley City, UT, with regional offices. The position is full-time and covers a territory including CA, OR, WA, NV, AK, HI. The RSR will manage and develop accounts, drive revenue growth, saturate market segments, explore new business opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and build long-term customer relationships. Accountability includes achieving sales goals, meeting behavior requirements, and logging sales activity in CRM.

Requirements

  • 3 + years in a similar role while exceeding goals
  • Proven to perform in a position that requires some travel.
  • History of winning and ability to articulate what worked to win.
  • Experience in maintaining a documented and prioritized pipeline.
  • Experience with managing yearly budgets for resources, sales expenses, and bid and proposal efforts.
  • Experience with managing sales quotas and other sales incentives.
  • Solid instinct for assessing customers, competitors and potential partners.
  • Ability to quickly separate serious prospects from a large number of business contacts.
  • Excellent relationship building skills both internally (division and corporate levels) and with external customers/agencies.
  • Exhibit high levels of persistence, proactive, superior attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in client relationship management.
  • Must work well in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents.
  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Advanced level of skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Email.
  • Organization, excellent telephone, interpersonal and communication skills are needed.

Responsibilities

  • Sell existing products and launch new products into the assigned territory.
  • Travel on sales trips up to one week per month.
  • Meet number of behavior requirements for customer interactions daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly.
  • Enter customer activity in CRM daily.
  • Analyze and develop new customers and opportunities within their market segment.
  • Protect, maintain, and enforce our current position in the market.
  • Develop and close sales opportunities.
  • Answer and follow up on direct incoming sales leads.
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of Desert Tech and its products.
  • Support and execute range events for customers to assist in the building of the DT brand awareness and dealer sales.
  • Provide training and customer service to existing customers that increase Desert Tech product knowledge and ability to convey the Desert Tech product “story.”
  • Leverage customer knowledge to identify business growth opportunities in the market sector.
  • Coordinate with the Director, Commercial Sales and VP, Sales & Marketing to ensure the proper products are being built to forecast to maintain competitive lead times.
  • Coordinate with the Director, Commercial Sales and VP, Sales & Marketing on priorities in the market for product design activity, demo support and customer support.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal program execution teams and current customers to promote follow-on business.
  • Work with the Director, Commercial Sales and VP, Sales & Marketing on new product requirements, performance specifications, pricing and market positioning.
  • Logging and reconciling business expenses.
