The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies in order to achieve sales, margin, and market share goals. This position will lead the QSI and Astro teams of sales representatives throughout Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missiouri and report to the National Sales Manager of Rival Rural and the GMs of QSI and Astro. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction or engineering field is desired
  • 5+ years of applicable, industry, leadership and business development experience
  • Strong knowledge in the sale of post frame buildings
  • Proven track record in increasing top line sales revenue and bottom line results
  • Experience and proven ability to implement effective systems, processes, and metrics
  • Entrepreneurial thinker, visionary with strategic planning skills
  • Strong language, mathematical, and reasoning skills
  • Proficient with Office Productivity Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn and use ERP systems
  • Valid driver's license and record of the appropriate type and class to operate company vehicles
  • Perform the position’s physical functions with extensive mobility and ease including walking, sitting, standing, bending, talking, hearing, seeing, and using hands to operate tools necessary for the job

Responsibilities

  • Promote the company mission, purpose, and core values in all activities and duties
  • Develop the strategic direction for the QSI and Astro sales teams to drive organic growth while maintaining profitability and maximizing resources
  • Lead and develop a high-performance sales teams including appropriate goalsetting, performance management and establishment of sales metrics to ensure a robust pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Analyze and understand industry trends to help develop solutions and pricing strategies that ensure competitiveness in the market
  • Work with leadership as well as internal and external resources to ensure delivery of the best overall customer experience
  • Develop sales strategies and implement initiatives for the team to grow the business by serving existing markets and targeting new key demographics
  • Lead and assist in optimizing the full sales process from lead generation through building completion including areas such as quoting, design/engineering, project management, etc. to drive speed to revenue and an improved overall customer experience
  • Train and develop the sales teams through effective sales skills development, performance management, and succession planning including conducting sales team meetings as well as individual seller 1:1s
  • Focus on enhancing and developing an improved recruiting and onboarding program for sellers, prioritizing the needs for succession planning of existing sales staff
  • Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals
  • Support the sales representatives through building and expanding relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Partner with GMs to establish sales and financial goals for the company in coordination with Rival Rural leadership and plan and direct the sales team to meet these goals
  • Collaborate with the Controllers to assist in preparing the budget; measure and manage sales, revenue and margins to increase profitability
  • Develop and implement a sales optimization plan with monthly goals and updates
  • Implement initiatives to fulfill the annual optimization plan with monthly changes and updates
  • Provide ongoing reporting of sales metrics leveraging Hubspot CRM and other tools
  • Analyze and develop KPIs to enhance our understanding of our existing customers, industry segments, geography's served, etc to drive improved company and individual seller performance
  • Understand the competition, micro and macro market needs and adjust as needed to drive organic growth and increased market share
  • Ensure process documentation is routinely updated
  • Motivate and manage personnel to meet operational and financial goals
  • Create unity by working with all employees and stakeholders to meet needs and improve processes
  • Select, assign, and develop sales staff; conduct performance reviews; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Know each employee by name, demonstrate care and trust and build relationships as applicable
