About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and executing sales strategies within an assigned territory to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and brand performance. This role oversees a team of sales representatives and managers, ensuring alignment with company objectives, supplier expectations, and market development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in beverage or consumer packaged goods sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive sales experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Beverage distribution or CPG experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of territory management and sales forecasting.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel within assigned region.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs when necessary.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue, distribution, and profitability goals.
  • Drive volume growth across all assigned brands and product portfolios.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and performance metrics to identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with supplier partners to implement promotional initiatives and market activations.
  • Establish territory objectives and performance benchmarks.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop sales team members.
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
  • Set clear expectations and hold team accountable for KPIs.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, urgency, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify future leaders and create succession plans.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and chain buyers.
  • Support negotiations, pricing strategies, and promotional planning.
  • Ensure execution excellence at retail and on-premise accounts.
  • Address and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor sales budgets, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Review route settlements, sales reporting, and margin performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure service excellence.
