As our Regional Sales Manager, you will be the driving force behind our regional market expansion. This is an outside sales role—meaning you will spend 60% or more of your time out in the field doing what you do best: soliciting clients, building relationships, and closing deals. You will grow profit margins, expand our customer base, mentor a developing sales team, and ensure Continental Battery Systems remains the preferred vendor in your territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (3.0+ GPA preferred).
  • An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with little to no safety concerns over the last 3 years.
  • 2+ years working as a DSM (or similar role) within the Company, having mastered 80%+ of the job description with a proven track record of profitable sales, customer retention, and reliable training abilities.
  • 6+ years of outside sales experience specifically within the battery industry, demonstrating high success in profitable sales and client retention.
  • 10+ years of general outside B2B sales experience with a track record of high profitability and familiarity with government bids.

Responsibilities

  • Expand sales by obtaining and developing new customers while growing the volume and profitability of current accounts.
  • Effectively pursue and win large orders and government bids.
  • Maintain tight-knit business relationships with the top 20% of your clients.
  • Actively connect via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings to anticipate their needs, educate them on our products, and guarantee preferred vendor status.
  • Support the development of our sales team.
  • Train personnel on proven sales processes, perform ride-alongs, provide input to our Learning Management System (LMS), and strategize with the Regional Manager to elevate team performance.
  • Track buying habits and analyze market data to uncover new opportunities.
  • Record daily activities, quotes, orders, and customer interactions accurately in our CRM.
  • Adapt your presentation style to deliver both executive-level pitches and service-level consultations.
  • Attend trade shows, generate leads, and actively contribute to regional marketing campaigns.
  • Perform occasional “hot-shot” deliveries, pick up used batteries for recycling, replenish consignment products, and assist in loading/unloading processes to ensure top-tier customer service.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments for all orders.
