Regional Medical Director - Southeast Region
About The Position
Matter Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Medical Director to provide physician leadership across our Southeast markets. This role will partner closely with operational and clinical leaders to support care delivery, provider performance, quality initiatives, and continued market growth. The Regional Medical Director will serve as a key clinical leader responsible for ensuring high-quality care delivery while helping drive clinical strategy, provider engagement, operational excellence, and patient outcomes. This is a highly collaborative role for a physician leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and supporting healthcare innovation in community-based environments.
Requirements
- Active MD or DO license in Tennessee (or ability to obtain Tennessee licensure)
- Board certification required
- 5+ years of physician leadership experience preferred
- Experience leading providers or multi-site healthcare operations strongly preferred
- Experience within value-based care, population health, primary care, or community-based healthcare environments preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated experience driving operational improvements and clinical initiatives
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Ability to travel periodically throughout Tennessee and Southeast markets as needed

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight across assigned Southeast markets
- Partner closely with Operations, Clinical, and Executive leadership teams to support growth initiatives and strategic objectives
- Support physician and advanced practice provider performance, mentorship, and development
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care
- Assist in developing and standardizing clinical workflows, protocols, and best practices
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve patient outcomes and operational effectiveness
- Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts
- Participate in clinical program development and implementation efforts
- Serve as a clinical ambassador and leader within Matter Health communities
