About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) position is a field-based role responsible for territorial growth of current and prospective accounts within the medical plastic components industry. The RSM will be measured by revenue growth, opportunity portfolio, project management, and contribution to corporate EBITDA. This role will drive the growth of all plastic product lines, including plastic compounds and polymer distribution, by leading the sales team (Application Development Engineer and Inside Sales). The key focus is on "opportunity build" and business closure.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience selling services or solutions into the medical plastics industry or a related industry.
  • Ability to create customer correspondence, routine reports, and other correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques in situations involving numerous variables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Proficient using system programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good reasoning ability.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the CRM system to track and manage Accounts, projects, and opportunities.
  • Ensure territory growth and opportunity portfolio is maintained per established goals on an annual basis.
  • Develop an action plan for each account with call plans for key accounts.
  • Proactively visit customers.
  • Identify, pursue, and close out new opportunities and projects.
  • Establish and build customer relationships at multiple levels and functions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to support all aspects of the account.
  • Follow up on new leads and opportunities.
  • Manage and close opportunities in the commercial pipeline with a focus on “needle mover” projects.
  • Coordinate projects until closure.
  • Promote and sell all product lines.
  • Attend trade shows in specified territory.
  • Communicate account information and updates to internal teams via summary of understands (SOUs).
  • Communicate strategic information to internal teams via monthly reporting.
